April 18th - Red Bay, Alabama

We made our first trip into Alabama today. We went to visit Harold and Joyce at the Tiffen Motor Home factory. They are still there waiting to get their motorhome fixed. We were amazed at how many of these beautiful new units were sitting there waiting to get work done on them. The campground held 70 plus units, and then all the bays were full and there were units in the overflow, and more units coming in all the time. I suspect that when we get a new motorhome, it won't be a Tiffen. They are really nice looking units, and they stand behind them 100 per cent forever, BUT...... for us to have to drive to Red Bay, AL, and sit there for weeks and weeks waiting for our unit to get fixed..... nope. We'll buy a unit closer to home, and I'm still fond of Winnebagos!!!!

We drove back to Tupelo via the Natchez Trace, but it was POURING rain, so we didn't get any touring in..... just drove!!! Quite a storm tonight!!! Thunder, lightening and tons and tons of rain. Nature put on a real show for us.

Supposed to be nice and clear tomorrow for our trip to Nashville. I'm sure glad that we had decided to stay an extra day here, because we wouldn't have had a nice day for our last day on the Trace if we had travelled today.
