The cone shaped glass building is the downtown visitor's center.

This marker is the "center" of Nashville. When you read distances on the map.....this is the marker that they use to measure to and from Nashville.

The hockey arena.

A view of City Hall through their beautiful downtown park.

A high school!!!!

The Schermerhorn Symphony Center

The tour guide said they call the building to the left "R2D2" and the one on the right "Batman". Seems like suitable names to me!!!

The Ryman Theater again.
This building used to be a mercantile but is now a restaurant. One of the oldest buildings left in downtown Nashville.

Broadway. The red boot is Robert's.

Broadway towards the hocky arena and visitor's center.

The old train station. This building has been restored and made into a five star hotel. It's really quite amazing the job they have done!!!

Clive on the third floor walkway in the Station/Hotel.

What is now the lobby of the Station/Hotel

The tour of the Star's Homes wasn't really that great as far as seeing "star's" homes was concerned, but it was great as a drive through the various upper scale residential home areas of Nashville. Personally, I prefer to drive through the Victorian areas and see the older homes, but some of the modern multi-million dollar homes are wonderful to look at as well. As far as being "star's" homes, other than Alan Jackson's place and Dolly Parton's place, I can't even be sure that what we were looking at belonged to the people the tour guide said they did. Most of the places were just glimpses through trees. I've included Dolly Parton's house just to show you what I mean. I searched the net, though, and no one else had a better picture!!!!
Alan Jackson's house was also identifiable from verification on the internet of legitimate photos of his place, and actually my pictures are quite good..mostly because the gate happened to open as we were outside. No one came out, so I'm not sure if they opened it so we could get photos or not!!??!! But as it happened, even though the tour driver moved along really quickly, I did manage to get a couple of decent pictures. Jackson's place is HUMUNGEOUS!!! Not just in the size of the house, but in the size of the property surrounding it. He actually runs it as a farm. The tour guide said that last year his corn crop got frozen out, so the government gave him a subsidy for new crop seed this year. Not sure if that is true or not, but it makes a good story!!! I got this first picture from the internet. I put it in here, because it really shows the scope of this wonderful home.

If you click on the link below, it takes you to a page on the net with a streaming video of an interview with Alan Jackson and his wife, Denise. It's really cute. Plus it tells a little bit about their house.

This is supposed to be Dolly Parton's house. If you look really really close, you can just see it through the gate and the trees. Yeah.
Even though he drove by so fast that it was hard to get good photos, the tour guide was really entertaining, and had lots of stories about the people who lived in the houses on his route. Whether those people really lived in the houses, or in the tour guide's mind, is a matter of conjecture, but it was definitely entertaining!!!
